Vane-Type Waterflow Detector – VTWS (Saddle) / VTWT (Threaded)
Fireguard vane-type waterflow detectors are compatible with schedule 10 through 40 steel pipe, sizes 2 through 8 inch, and can be mounted in vertical or horizontal position. Available in saddle type (VTWS) or threaded type (VTWT) connection, both consist of a rugged, NEMA 3-rated enclosure suited to indoor and outdoor use across a wide temperature range. UL Listed models feature tamper-resistant cover screws, and inside, two sets of SPDT (Form C) synchronized switches are enclosed in a durable terminal block for reliable performance. A mechanical retard feature minimizes false alarms caused by pressure surges or trapped air in the sprinkler system, with a sealed design immune to dust and contaminants. Both the retard mechanism and dual SPDT switches are field-replaceable.

Note: Common and B-NO connections close when the vane is deflected (i.e., when water is flowing). Dual switches permit combined applications on a single detector.
