The Model H ensures positive water flow for alarm operation while its external bypass prevents false alarms under all supply pressure conditions — compatible with both constant and variable pressure installations.

When one or more sprinklers activate, the valve opens to allow continuous water flow into the system, simultaneously triggering both mechanical and electrical alarms. In variable pressure systems, a retard chamber (Model RC9) can be added to the trim to further prevent false alarms caused by transient pressure surges.
